Neosho County is located in the heart of Southeast Kansas and is centrally located between Kansas City, Wichita, KS, Tulsa, OK and Joplin, Mo. The people of Neosho County take pride and respect their heritage, as shown in the above picture of the relocated and restored Austin Bridge. This historic bowstring bridge is the oldest in the United States and has been moved to Chanute’s Santa Fe Park, where it is the beginning of a three-mile hike/bike trail.
